Edge Tape

Postby Poonz » Thu May 30, 2019 10:57 am

Hello again everyone, I'm looking for advice on edge tape. I'm currently using tape provided from where I buy my mounting backing but, it's expensive and doesn't work all that well.

Does anyone recommend anything that I can buy from the Canada or the US?

Regards,
Paul

I like 3M aluminum tape. Google 3M flexo and download the brochure. They have other types of edge tape and even primer that you can experiment with. May have to buy from a dealer.

I had someone recommend putting shellac on the edges to hold the plates down. Never used a primer but I will look into it. Thanks!

I used to use shellac to keep it from sticking

Depending on what tape you are using, heating up the tape with a heat gun, then immediately rolling the plate down gave us some success..
