Slitting

Postby dkelley » Fri Mar 08, 2019 10:47 am

We run large maser rolls and sent rolls to an offline turret for rewinding. We use an Tidland type slitter for this however some materials cause adhesive to build up on the knives causing considerable downtime.
I'm looking for a company that will build a stand alone slitting unit using circular air knives 17'' ij width.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

There's a couple things I would suggest before looking into investing into a new slitter but also need to know a few details.

Can you explain your lamination set up? Solvent based adhesive? How long are you waiting for the master rolls to cure before slitting? What testing do you do to ensure a proper coating weight on your product? If I know these I can give some insight.
