Trimming at press vs at rewind

there's been a back-and-forth discussion as to whether trimming excess material is better done or more cost effective at rewind vs at press. being as i have always done trimming at press im a little biased. i feel that just on disposal of trim which goes into waste roll is easier disposed of. any thoughts???
