printing issue in magenta plate

Post by alaa »

He has a problem during printing, especially when I have a 100% flat print with an image in the same cycle. The entire area of the print is almost eroded and gives poor print over time. More than one cycle has been tried with different exposure conditions. Please help

I've seen something that looks like this and traced the cause to the thermal/wicking processing of the plate. In this case, the edges of images on the plates had a duller appearance. The areas of duller appearance corresponded exactly to the printed defects.

To me, the edges had less support and the wicking material pressed harder in those areas. If you are processing via thermal wicking, maybe you can put temporary supporting images areas around the problems spots and shave those support areas off the plate after processing.

Wiping the plate images, with isopropyl alcohol helped a little, but didn't fix the problem.
